Club Policies
General Behaviour
Members are NOT permitted to leave the Sports Centre under any circumstances unless accompanied by a Coach. E.g. Fire Drill. However Members may leave the Trampolining Hall but only with permission from a Ministry Of Air Coach. This is granted (for obtaining a drink, toilet, or Pay 'Phone use etc,) for a maximum of five minutes. The members must make the Coach aware on their return.
Any abuse of the above will result in permission being withdrawn, and consultation with the parent.
Ministry Of Air condemns all forms of
bullying
as unacceptable behaviour. Any Ministry Of Air Coach can be approached or involved at any stage to ensure that earliest resolution may proceed fairly, and also to provide advice to anyone who is anxious that their child may be a bully or is being bullied.
Insurance
Ministry Of Air is registered with British Gymnastics - Membership 41623. and associate members are individually named and registered as B.G. Associate members.
All full Ministry Of Air Coaches are insured with British Gymnastics Membership.
We also carry Public & Employer Liability insurance, & Sports Accident insurance cover for all temporary (i.e. non-B.G.) members with Cornhill Insurance.
The Club Manager also has personal Insurance with the National Coaching Foundation.
Clothing For Training
During training we require suitable clothing. Foot covering is mandatory.
Leotards are preferred, but Crop-Tops or T-shirts and sensible shorts or 3/4 length tight bottoms are acceptable. Loose baggy tops (particularly with hoods) and baggy track-suit trousers are not appropriate, however long sleeved clothing is perfectly in order.
There is no requirement to wear any jewellery of any form. Stud earrings are permitted, provided any sharp edges are taped over to minimise hazards to our Coaches.
Ministry Of Air clothing is available for any member to purchase regardless of ability or group - this consists of:
- Competition leotard with the standard design
- Competition trousers (males)
- T-shirt with the standard design
Ministry Of Air Track-suit
Full &Associate Members (i.e. Competitor level) must purchase Ministry Of Air Competition attire.
The tracksuit is optional.
Clothing At Competitions
Wherever possible Ministry Of Air attire will be worn. This covers ALL activities, including actual competition.
Individual Competition: B.G./B.T.F. Competition Rules
- Female: Leotard and white ankle length socks or trampoline shoes.
- Male: Sleeveless leotard and gym trousers in a single (not dark) colour, (OR for Grade 6-3 sleeveless / short sleeved, single colour T-shirt and shorts / single colour gym trousers). Foot covering / trampoline shoes in either white or the same colour as the gym trousers / shorts.
Teams and Synchronised Competition: B.G./B.T.F. Competition Rules
When competing as a team all members of that team shall wear the same uniform. In synchronised competition each pair must wear the same uniform.
Schools
When a member is representing their school they can wear the school leotard. If there isn't one available the member should wear Ministry Of Air leotard as described for Individual Competition. At the National Schools Championships the school leotard takes priority.
Internationals
When a competitor competes for Great Britain in National or International Competitions they can wear a leotard / trousers of their choice.
Competitions: General
There is a great deal of commitment and effort required from Ministry Of Air Representatives, Parents & Competitors to ensure successful participation at Competitions. Ministry Of Air Policy is to ensure that no undue burden falls on any individuals, and that all are supportive of each other.
Ministry Of Air Responsibility to the Competitor
- Timely Identification of competition timetable, indicating which particular competitions should be prioritised.
- Ensure entries are made, complying with the Competition requirements.
- Notify parents of details (directions, accommodations, travel arrangements, competition timetable).
- Provide as many Judges / Officials as required by the competition rules.
- Provide at least one delegated Coach on the competition floor.
- Ensure other
Ministry Of Air members are available to spot and support.
Parents Responsibility towards each competition
- As far as possible, allow entry to all the prioritised competitions.
- Ensure your child is available and equipped to travel & compete.
- Be prepared to share travel arrangements with Coaches, Judges & Officials.
- Ensure that your child is available to spot / support others throughout the day.
Deviations
In situations arising where specific deviations are necessary, relating to personal circumstances, etc., these should be discussed and agreed with Ministry Of Air Management.
Ministry Of Air Responsibility to each Coach & Judge / Official
- Ensure that travel to / from the competition is accompanied if required, and that costs are shared appropriately.
- Provide details (directions, accommodations, travel arrangements, competition timetable).
- Fund Hotel accommodation when overnight stay is appropriate.
- Fund evening meals for overnight stay, after the first evening.
Coaches / Judges / Officials Responsibility.
- Represent the best interests of
Ministry Of Air and be supportive to all our Competitors.
- Ensure
Ministry Of Air Policies are maintained.
- Maintain parental responsibility for unaccompanied minors.
